Hi I'm Jo

I'm a 57 yr old grandmother living in the beautiful Northwest. I love my Mormon Pioneer heritage AND I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 57 yr old grandmother who met my 2nd husband the " old fashioned" way. ONLINE. Married for 12 yrs, this husband RE-baptized me into the LDS church. I had walked away and was sure I had lost my testimony. During a roadtrip with him, he asked all kinds of questions about the church and I was able to bear a STRONG testimony to him. At the end of 2 hours of conversation, I told him," Don't just believe me, find out for yourself. When do you want the missionaries to come visit?" We took the lessons together and he was baptized. Later( after about year) my husband was able to take me into the waters of baptism. How joyful I was and am for the gift of forgiveness and for my Heavenly Father's love for me. I love to crochet and make what I call " Blessing Blankets". These are afghans that I give to people I feel impressed should receive them. I never sell them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have chosen to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I was reared in this religion and at the age of 8 I was asked by my father to pray to Heavenly Father and ask if the gospel was true. He would only baptize me if I got a positive response to this. I went to my knees and asked," Dear Heavenly Father, Is this church the truth? Did Joseph Smith really see you and Jesus?" Should I join this church and have my daddy baptize me?" I remember being filled with such a warmth that tears streamed down my cheeks and I KNEW in my heart it was for me...the truth. Later in my life, I left the church due to sinful ways I had chosen to follow. It was heartbreaking to do so,but, I left my family and found myself in another place. Satan wanted me to fail. When asked about the gospel by the man who would become my 2nd husband, I found myself giving answers I had known in my heart all my life. I was so very grateful that my dear parents had taught me to know God and his Son. I am a Mormon because GOD loves me and always wants me to come home to Him and has given me the chance to repent and return to Him.

How I live my faith

Being a good friend in the Mormon church means that you will talk to other people no matter what their religious beliefs and convicitons may be. In the Mormon church ladies might go see other ladies, talk with them and see in what area they can be of assistance. I write to ladies who for whatever reasons, cannot or choose not to come out to church on Sundays. I like to do this as it gives me a little chance to share a bit of myself with these ladies and to let them know that I care about them. I pray for them and I ask for guidance to know what to say that will lift them and build a good relationship. I have let other women use this method of " friendshipping" to help those in need in their churches. They tell me that it is " working wonders". I think it works "WONDER" fully well no matter where it is used.
