Hi I'm John Shonk

I am a young professional from Texas. I love to do outdoor activities like bike, swim and jog. I am studying for the GMAT.

About Me

I am a very active and social guy in my mid 20's. I studied at a university in Texas, and am currently working in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry. I have learned to work hard and have learned that reaping the benefits of one's efforts does not come immediately. I feel persistence, living a life of meaning, continually learning, staying in shape, and treating others how I wanted to be treated, is a great remedy to enjoy this life. I lived over seas about six years of my life and have learned so many valuable things from the different people I have met. I have come to learn and to love seeking input and feedback from others on important to simple details in my life in decision making. Yet, I feel I know who I am and I love my family. I hang out with my brothers on a weekly basis and they are for sure my best friends. I love the Spanish language and culture. Traveling is one of my most favorite things to do when I am able too.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon is a definite choice for me. Living the principles that the Mormon church shares make my life so much more simpler and enjoyable. the institution and people I meet in the Mormon faith are for the most part good people trying to make this world and their individuals live better one day at a time, and that rubs off on me making me want to be better. I feel like I have a more equilibrium between my professional, personal, and future educational goals in life by living a life a Mormon tries too. One day I want to have my own family and be married because the relationship I have with my own parents, brothers, and sisters is so great that I want that for myself and my children. My siblings are my best friends and we have some much fun with each other and are a great support to one another. That is such a blessing in my life I feel. I know that my relationship with my family has been strengthened through following simple principles of being a Mormon. I also truly feel I have meaning and purpose as I go about living my life, especially as a young man. I am a real guy that loves being active in life, and and learning by having good and bad experiences is part of growing personally and finding joy in my life. I really believe that that is a God and there are people in our paths of life put their for certain purposes to help us grow.

How I live my faith

I have a personal motto to live my faith by actions and if necessary use words. I want to practice what I preach. I always try to find a way to show my respect to women by doing simple acts of kindness, like opening doors and giving simple smiles out.
