Hi I'm Darron

I'm a father of 4, have the best wife in the world, have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my wife and kids. We've coupled our interests with our hobbies so I can spend time with my kids and develop our interests at the same time. We've built a zip line in our back yard, done multiple welding projects together, and recently put up a 50ft "monkey bridge." Maybe someday we'll rebuild a car or motorcycle together. I'm currently in the National Guard and have been to both Afghanistan and Iraq. I've served a full-time mission to the Philippines, and even visited Jordan in the Middle East. In fact, 10% of my life has been serving either my God or my country in a foreign nation. I've seen a lot of people in this world and met thousands of Heavenly Father's children who are lost and lonely. And although I've been through many hard times in my life too, and felt lost and lonely as well, I've gotten through them because I know who I am and I've felt my Heavenly Father's love which got me through.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've found the truth. The truth is specific and concrete. It is exact and straighforward. And these qualities are contained in my religion, because religion does not have to be vague or ambiguous. Many truth's are simple, such as the love my Heavenly Father and Jesus have for me. Other's are more complicated, like why do good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people. Well, I've found the answers to these and a lot more questions. I know the meaning of my life. I know my purpose here on the earth. I know where I'm going after I die. And most importantly to me, I know my family can be there with me.

How I live my faith

I live the Mormon standards in many ways in my life. I teach the young men in our church every Sunday who are 12 and 13 years old. Every Wednesday night we do service projects, Boy Scouting activities, or other fun youth activities. My own children are of similar ages and I've been able to lead and teach them as they have participated. More importantly, I live the Mormon standards because they true principles in the gospel. I don't drink or smoke just because I don't want to deal with the related health issues. I am an honest person because I have integrity and a strong desire to do what is right. I am kind and charitable to others because that's the way Jesus taught us to be. I can't feel the Holy Ghost if I am drunk, lieing, or unkind to others. When I live my life this way, I am guided by the Holy Ghost to make good decisions that have very positively affected my life. Don't get me wrong...my life isn't perfect. I work a dead end job and can barely make ends meet. My brother's wife is dying and she's only 42. And I've been to two war zones for 2 of the last 5 years. But I am truly happy with who I am, my relationships with all my family and friends, and how I'm living my life.
