Hi I'm Skip

I travel to many international locations working on environmental projects. I attend the Mormon Church in many global locations.

About Me

I am a Civil Engineer who has worked in the business world throughout my career. I travel globally for business and holidays. My greatest happiness and sense of accomplishment comes through my Family. Our Family includes seven children and twelve grandchildren and counting. I enjoy all types of sports and outdoor activities. Using high performance, all terrain vehicles is one of my favorite activities. I enjoy annually high adventure/high mountain camping and fishing with my Sons, Grandchildren and Friends.. I enjoy providing service in various forms in the Mormon Church. I especially enjoy working in the welfare service areas that benefit the truly needy people. I have many years of experience in working in youth program like the Boy Scouts. I have spent considerable time living and working in the Western United States and in various countries such as England, Scotland, Hong Kong, Australia, Jordan and Brazil. I studied German for four years and am currently fluent in speaking and reading Portuguese. I have enjoy experiencing the culture and people through the many places that I have worked and visited. Early in my education I was introduced to classical music and the performing arts through playing the violin. I will never forget the concert featuring the Philadelphia Philharmonica Orchestra and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in recording the the Battle Hymn of the Republic and the Lord's Prayer. My favorite ballet is Swan Lake and my favorite musical is Phantom of the Opera.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in and love My Father in Heaven, Elohim, His Son and My Savior, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I believe that the true Church that Jesus organized has Priesthood keys that exist to bless the lifes of all of God's children while they are in this mortal life and throughout the eternities. I believe that the Priesthood keys have been in the past and are now given to His Prophets to bless the lifes of all of His children. I am a Mormon because this is the Christ's Church organized and functioning with the Priesthood keys through the modern day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I have read and studied the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon throughout my life. Each of these books contain the words and teachings that testify of the divinity of the Savior and the blessings that are reserved for all of God's children. These holy scriptures as well as the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price serve to provide testimonies of the sacred mission of the Savior and the veracity of the mission of the past and current Prophets and Apostles. My testimony is based upon my personal studies and actual experiences during my lifetime. I believe that Families are eternal and forever. Familes and children provide the opportunities for all people to progress eternally and receive the blessings of etrenal lifes, living in the presence of our Holy and Eternal Parents. The Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) provide the opportunity for worthy people to receive through the Priesthood keys the required covenants to qualify through knowledge and service to once again with with Our heavanely Parents in the Celestial Kingdom. These doctrines and teachings are comforting and sensible to me. The Mormon Church provides for me a clear vision and purpose for my earthly existence and clear understanding of my worth and value in the next world. I love my Family. They are the source of my happiness and joy. The Mormon Church defines my way of living.

How I live my faith

Serving other people and worthy causes bring great joy and satisfaction in my life. Our world is full of good people and effective organizations that are devoted to service. It does not seem to matter where my travels take me in the world the opportunity to serve others and experience the joy and happiness expressed by others is usually available. The greatest joy and satisfaction that I experience is being of service to my Family and the good people associated with our Mormon Ward (congregation). Serving in the Mormon Temples brings hours of peaceful reverence and contemplation. This service also brings me closer to my extended Family and many other good people who are dedicated to a life of selfless service. The Mormon Church has provided many opportunities to provide service and to develop important leadership skills and confidence. As a teenager I was given multiple opportunities to serve with my friends and neighbors. We worked on farms to provide essential food stuffs for the poor and needy. Hauling hay and weeding in the sugar beet, corn and bean fields taught me important work skills and habits but most importantly offered me opportunities to help organize my friends into work parties in order to get the assigned work duties completed. Our labors produced cans of important food stuffs for our truly needy friends and neighbors. Even today I am grateful for the opportunities to work on our Church farms. As a young missionary we quickly found endless opportunities to serve. We often taught English classes or provided important services in the local schools and charitable organizations. We made many friends in each community. Most of all we found that the world is full of caring and good people. So as the years have grown into decades service for others continues to be the source of great joy and happiness. The Lord has said that by serving others we are truly in His Service. I try to live my faith by serving others and enjoying the blessing of friends.
