Hi I'm Nancy,

I love to play the piano and read to my grandchildren. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a third generation Arizonan. I have been married to my dear husband for 50 years, and we are parents of 8 children (6 sons and 2 daughters), who have given us 26 beautiful and precious grandchildren. I graduated from college and taught school briefly after our marriage, until our children came along. I enjoy music, sewing, quilting, playing board games, cooking, eating out, reading, attending the temple, serving in church and the community and spending time with family and friends. I have had many opportunities to use music in my life--playing the oboe in band through high school and college, playing in a dance band, accompanying ward choirs, and teaching piano lessons for 38 years. I also love to play the piano for my own enjoyment.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family, with a legacy of faithful ancestors, who set a wonderful example for me of devotion to the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. They left their native lands to join with the saints in America, and sacrificed much. I grew up seeing my parents and grandparents living the teachings of the Savior and bearing testimony of His atonement. We read scriptures together and prayed daily and served however we could. Because of those things -- study, prayer and service--I was able to gain my own testimony that this is Christ's true church upon the earth today, that the Book of Mormon is the words of God, and that we have a living prophet on the earth again. I know that God lives and loves me and knows who I am and what my needs are. I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit has taught me these truths. Being a Mormon brings me happiness and peace.

How I live my faith

The gospel teaches us that we should be anxiously engaged in a good cause -- and there are opportunities all around us to serve and help one another, as Christ did. I have had many different callings to serve in the church over the years teaching young children, working with the youth, leading the women's organization, visiting women in their homes and helping them, serving as a pianist in Primary, choir, church, working in cub scouts, etc. My husband and I were blessed to be able to serve a two-year mission to Norway, where we helped to build and strengthen the people in that part of the world. I am trying to live the way Jesus taught and showed us, by being loving, kind, patient, understanding, forgiving, faithful, and obedient. We endeavored to teach these principles to our children, also.
