Hi I'm Paul

I live in sunny Arizona. I'm a mechanical designer. My wife and I have six children and 19 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in northern California but now live in the Valley of the Sun where the summers are hot but the winters are so mild that tens of thousands from the northern states winter here. I design mechanical things and have worked using CAD (computer aided design) for 25 years. Though I'm not very good at chess, I very much enjoy it. I love reading about and watching videos on new technology and would be an inventor if I could afford it (having had several ideas preceding product announcements, but which were very close in design to the marketed products).

Why I am a Mormon

The knowledge that God is the Father of my spirit and loves me enough that He sent his only son who was perfect from the beginning, to ransom my soul from the grasp of hell, fills me with undying gratitude. I know that my spiritual brother Jesus Christ gave his life for me so that I would not have to suffer for my sins as He did, if I will repent. He promises that through improving my life by trying to be perfect like He is, I can live with God and Him in the hereafter. I didn't always know that, but through prayer it was made known to me as He promised (James 1: 5). Since He answered my prayers, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was His instrument in restoring to earth the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I cannot but be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Because He has so blessed me with those answers to my prayers, I have a great desire to share with others that God loves us, His children, and does answer our prayers as He has promised, and is willing that all who will accept His Beloved Son Jesus Christ, desiring to serve Him, will be lead to all truth. Many times I have to repent as I realize I've done something that is not aligned with His will, with the faith that these course corrections, though difficult at times, will lead me to Him. I love Him.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, but we revere him as the man God chose to be His prophet in restoring to His children the truths, power, and ordinances we need to return to Him, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which contains the Plan of Salvation, also known as the Plan of Happiness. God wants us to be happy, and His plan facilitates that. I thank God for Joseph Smith, the man who had enough faith and determination that, though he suffered great persecution, accomplished the purposes of God and brought about what I consider to be the greatest force for good in the world today. From 6 members at organization in 1830, the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints today is over 14 million, with great numbers joining every day as they recognize their need for Gods truth. Yes I revere Joseph Smith, but I worship God the Eternal Father and His beloved Son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
