Hi I'm Barb

I'm a native Coloradoan. I'm a gym rat and love basketball and volleyball. I'm a wife. I'm a mom...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of 6 children in a very close family. I am a small town girl who grew up on a farm in Southern Colorado irrigating and driving tractors. I am competitive. I enjoy playing volleyball, basketball and softball and I LOVE watching my 4 kids play football, basketball and volleyball even more. I am a gym rat and especially love to be in a gym watching practices and games of volleyball and basketball. I have coached little league basketball and middle school basketball so I have many adopted kids in the community. I went to college in Colorado and graduated with a Political Science/Criminology degree. I enjoy the challenge of fixing a washing machine that won't wash, replacing a side window on the suburban that got hit by a rock, changing the belt on the riding lawnmower and putting together the new futon that was bought on sale. I am a wife, a mom, a coach, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church but just as any other member I too had to be "converted" and find out for myself whether what I had been taught my whole life was true or not. I have found that my testimony grows daily as I take the time to ponder and concentrate on seeing the hand of God in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a living thing...it applies to and has applied to me no matter my age, my location or my circumstances. The true principles that are found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ are applicable to everyone, everywhere, all of the time. It is comforting to me to know that the ways of God are consistent, it is me who is not, and when I follow His plan and His commandments I am TRULY happy and have joy in my life, even when I experience bumps in the road. I'm thankful for the sacrifices made by those who have gone before so that I might have the gospel in my life today.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve both within the Church and without. My service in the Church has taught me how to serve in the community. I have been a coach in our communities' sports programs, I belong to numerous booster clubs at the schools in which my children attend and many service projects in the communities in which we have lived and do live. Belonging to the Church has prepared me to communicate and work with others from all walks of life.
