Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a former business owner, active in government and community but my heart is always with my family and grandkids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom, wife, grandmother and I love to ride motorcycles with my husband. We do a family ride with cousins and adult children every summer for 7 to 10 days. We meet at different locations each year all over the United States. I am known for riding on the back of our Harley Ultra Classic with a book. Did I mention that I love to read? Anything and everything! I also have a cup holder to hold my Diet Coke. It's pure heaven to me to snuggle up behind my honey with a book, drink and no interruptions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who loved me but struggled with addictions. I had extended family who made sure my siblings and I got to church and it became my lifeline. When I became a teenager I felt a need to know what I really believed so I read the Book of Mormon and prayed very sincerely to know if I was on the right path. I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who answered that prayer with a sure knowledge. I have never wavered in my faith and although life isn't always easy I know that I am loved and it will always work out for my good in the end. I had the opportunity to care for a friend for the last two years of her life as she fought brain cancer, lost her vision and went through many difficult surgeries. She was the former wife of my husband and did not like "Mormons". in general and me in particular. It was understandably very hard for her to accept my help at first but as we became very close we shared many spiritual experiences and I was reminded of how blessed I am to know my Savior and his eternal plan.

How I live my faith

I have loved working in all the various jobs I have had in the church. For the last year, I have been teaching the 2 year old nursery. Love those kids! I am now teaching the adult Sunday School class. I think I'm learning more than I am teaching and my knees shake every Sunday but I feel grateful for the opportunity. I am also a Visiting Teacher and I love the whole concept. Women caring and sharing with other women is a powerful bond. I always feel that I have a whole community to turn to whenever I need anything and I love helping others. I'm proud to be involved with many humanitarian programs supported by the church.
