Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and my family and I moved to Arizona just over ten years ago. I love to read and learn about new things. I feel like the more I learn the more valuable I am to my family and my community. I also love to play and watch sports although I'm quickly becoming too old to play and too busy to watch. As a California transplant I still love to follow the Angels and Lakers. My other primary hobby is watching and training in MIxed Martial Arts. I've very much enjoyed studying boxing and now see why it is called the "sweet science." Although I don't get to do it very often, I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I hope to be able to travel more in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

In a tumultuous world such as ours, I'm extremely grateful for the peace, direction and light the church offers. I firmly believe there is "right" and "wrong" and that there are consequences for our decisions. I believe there is a loving God who blesses and enriches our lives when we live His gospel and serve others. Conversely, poor decisions can bring sadness, frustration, confusion and heartache. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides a path of peace, clarity and happiness that has proven time and time again to enrich my life. In a world with so many competing, negative influences I'm grateful to have a steady path to follow. Especially as a father, the church provides a solid foundation and purpose in the raising of young children.

How I live my faith

I'm fortunate to be involved with the youth and learn as much from them as they learn from me. The church's programs for the youth provide a sense of belonging, direction and community that encourage them to plan for a successful future. I'm also involved with the church's Home Teaching program where each family is assigned someone who makes visits on a monthly basis and is available to help when needed. The church also offers several charitable giving programs that provide resources to help those in need both inside and outside the church. There is a great sense of fulfillment and purpose found in personal sacrifice and helping others. Although very far from perfect, I make an honest effort each day to live the principles of the gospel, to be a better example of what I believe in, to reach out to those in need and to be a better father, husband and friend.
