Hi I'm Brittnee Aldridge

I grew up and lived in Mesa for many years. I didn't always know what I wanted in life, but I have come to find it.

About Me

I grew up in a home where religion wasn't allowed to be expressed. My parents didn't want to be apart of any church due to their own belief system. I wasn't sure why, but I knew that I couldn't do anything about it until I was 18. I was in an abusive situation for many years and struggled to know if one day it could all be over; if possible. I didn't see any light in my near future, didn't plan on going to college, and waited for the worst to happen. I didn't anticipate any good from myself. In my mind I agreed with my family that I was a "nobody" and couldn't go far in life. That all changed when my best friend started to invite me to church and I started to see the light I had in me, but wasn't sure how to express it.

Why I am a Mormon

Two years ago I was a Junior in High School. My parents were having a hard time and going through a divorce; which hit me pretty hard. I didn't expect it to happen, but it did. I went to school one day and my best friend could tell something was wrong, but I didn't tell her what was wrong because I never told anyone anything about my family or I. She had invited me to an LDS church and everytime I would say "No, that's no me." Later down the road she asked me again and I had told her that I would go to church and see what I would think. It was really weird for me at first, but I made a promise to my best friend that I would go to church until I felt something there. It took a little while to feel something, but when I did I knew I was meant to be there at that time. Later on in the year I kept going to church and the church activities that my best friend had been inviting me too. Everyday I kept going and enjoyed learning new things and feeling like I had belonged there. My best friend had helped me set up a missionary lesson with the Elders, but I had cancelled because I thought I was rushing into it. Later down the road I had asked my brother to set up another appointment with the Elders that had been teaching my brother. I felt it was right and new it was so on August 14, 2010 I was baptized by my older brother! He got baptized 2 months before I did so to have him baptize me was amazing and meaningful! I am so happy that I joined the church. It has blessed me in many ways that I can't explain. This Gospel bring so much peace and happiness to me and the family that I have now. I couldn't go on with life if I didn't find this gospel. His commandments are to protect us and to help us return to His presence some day and I am so grateful for that knowledge that I have of His plan.

How I live my faith

I attend all the activities that are held at the church or within the church to build a stronger foundation of our Savior. I may struggle with some trials but rely on Him to pull me through. He knows everything about us and how we feel. I live to follow His plan for me and watch out for those around me. Serving my fellowmen has been such a great blessing in the person I am now. I read my scriptures and pray everyday for strength, faith, hope, protection, etc. He grants those things unto me according to my Faith in Him. I live His Gospel everyday and when I fail once I know that He helps me get right back up the next day and try again.
