Hi I'm Melinda

I'm a wife, mother of four, artistic and love to laugh. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in a few different places, but spent the majority of my childhood playing out in the rain in the Pacific Northwest. I made the "unusual" choice of being married at 18 years old, resulting in having to grow up maybe a little faster than most people. ;) Since then we've had four children, moved around and settled back in Washington near our families by buying our first house. I've always loved to draw and paint and sew and craft, I find joy in creating things. I like to think of myself as spunky, but also someone who cares deeply about other people and relationships. I can be loud and silly and like to make other people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this Church, but as everyone finds out, at one point you have to decide if you believe what you've been taught and want to follow it. I had many experiences growing up that helped me build a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've felt the Holy Ghost telling me its true when I prayed for an answer. Besides having that witness, I love being a member of this Church! I love the answers it gives me, I love how it helps me know how I should live and how to be the best person I can be, I love the calm and peace and joy I feel when I know I'm doing whats right and what God would want me to do.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing it! :) We've been taught to read the scriptures and pray daily, I try to do that. I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ the best I can. I teach my children to be good people and to love their Savior. I work hard to not let "things" and possessions get in the way of whats truly important, which is family and God and doing whats right. I serve in the Church in different ways, sometimes teaching lessons, sometimes helping someone move or babysitting for them. And I try to help other people when I see they need help, whether a member of my religion or not.
