Hi I'm Bruce Jones

I grew up in Salt Lake City, but moved to New Jersey (the Garden State) in 1971. I love it here, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

After growing up in Utah and serving a mission for my church in Japan for 30 months, I returned to Salt Lake to graduate from college and move with my new bride to New Jersey. We loved this "Garden State" from the beginning and have been here ever since. The communities here on the East Coast provide a rich "history" of our country, and complete cultural diversity. I have worked in the financial services business since 1971 primarily in Estate and Financial planning for individuals and small businesses. Having lost my wife to MS in 1995, and having one of my 6 original children grow up with developmental challenges has focused my life on the needs of families with "special needs". I have remarried "another" angel in my life, and now have 9 children and 8 wonderful grandchildren, spread out all over this beautiful country..."from shining sea to shining sea" We truly have been very blessed as a family, and are grateful for the "eternal" relationships we have been blessed to have. Life is good, howbeit, never easy... Just worth all the struggles and challenges we all need to experience...that's why we chose to come to this earthly experience.

Why I am a Mormon

My heritage goes back to the 1840's, and my great-grandfather, Nathaniel Vary Jones. He meet the Prophet Joseph Smith in Wisconsin, followed him to Nauvoo, Ill. and joined the church there, to begin my families heritage in the Church. Now being the 4th generation within my family, as a member of the church, it is a special privilege to share the Gospel with the "world" around me here in New Jersey. My wife and I have served a full time "senior" mission in the San Francisco Bay Area for two years (her hometown area ), and have once again felt the special blessing of working with missionaries of the church and new members. They all provide such a spark and enthusiasm of the message of the Restored Gospel. What a special blessing to be part of this great work. The Book of Mormon will change your life and provide a great daily anchor in your life if you prayerfully read and study its pages. I have done so all my life, and it provides me with the greatest "peace" one can obtain here in this life. That I know !

How I live my faith

Life within the church here in New Jersey offers multiple opportunities to share with so many the beautiful message of the Gospel. My experience living here in Morris County has been exciting, since for many of my neighbors and business associations, I'm the "first" Mormon many have meet face to face. It gives me a special opportunity to help people understand who we are and what we believe. Working many years with the young full time missionaries, our special youth, and members of the church recently baptized has helped me appreciate the great changes that come into people's lives at tremendous sacrifice. They are very inspirational to me personally. Now as a Stake President over 7 congregations here in the Morris County area, I see first hand the positive effects the Gospel has on individual and family lives. It it truly amazing and wonderful!
