Hi I'm Bob

I'm a retired State Trooper, pilot, fisherman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband with a lovely wife, five beautiful daughters and 17 grandchildren, 14 of which are boys. I am an Air Force Vietnam Veteran and retired State Trooper. I have have my pilots license and love flying, fishing and the outdoors. I am also a General class amateur radio operator.

Why I am a Mormon

When I first met my wife, we were in High School together. She was a member of the Mormon Church and I was not. We married a year and a half after graduating high school and after I had gone into the Air Force. Two years later, I joined the Church for her but wasn't active. Two years later just before getting out of the Air Force, I had been contemplating about my life and where I was going with it. We had a daughter now and I just knew there was something better. While praying about this, the answer came. I already had it and knew what it was, I just was not doing it. It was the Gospel. I made a commitment then to Heavenly Father that I would go to church, take my little family with me and start learning about He and his Son Jesus Christ. Nine months later, we went to the Temple where my precious wife, daughter and I were sealed together for time and all eternity through the authority of the Holy Priesthood. There is no other feeling in the world any more special and tender than knowing we will be an eternal family. One of the reasons I am a Mormon is because I know the authority of the Holy Priesthood has been restored to the earth at this time through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The world has a Prophet on the earth today, even Thomas S. Monson. Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ know each of us personally by name and will answer your prayers. He did mine.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by trying to be a Christ centered example. I know I have weaknesses and failings but try to work on them every day. That is the beauty of Christ's atonement. I have been a youth teacher, adult teacher and now teach and encourage members how to get out of debt and prepare for emergencies by starting and using a food storage plan.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Our churches are dedicated public places of worship where members and non-members meet for church services. The temple, just as in old times, is the House of the Lord where sacred ordinances are preformed. It is open only to members that are worthy to enter. Show more Show less
