Hi I'm Charlotte

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small beach community in southern California and have lived here most of my life. For generations, my family has lived by, and loved the sea. We all enjoy whatever the ocean has to offer. I have never been to Utah! At this point, I guess you could call me an ancient mermaid. I spent my college years working in the entertainment business, starting out in the animation side in LA, eventually graduating to commercial film production direction on both coasts. During that time, I met many Mormons, but never wanted to get too close because I thought they might try to convert me. I heard it said that; "if you could remember the 60's you weren't really there" I heard the word "Peace" often used, but I don't know many folks who really had it, including me. Anyway, I eventually married and had a wonderful son, now grown, and of whom I am very proud. we were baptized together in 1996. I suppose I have reached emeritus status as a parent and am looking forward to perhaps serving a senior mission. I guess it could be said that there is very little that doesn't interest me. I especially enjoy current events and researching my family tree. I take particular enjoyment from annoying other family members by begging for their stories from the past. It is truly amazing the education genealogy provides along the way. History, politics, and human interest stories are just waiting to be told if one only takes the time to look.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the Church in 1996 after getting to know a family that actually lived their beliefs. The strength of their example led us to the Church and my son and I were baptized together within the same year. Looking back, I can only say that life moves so quickly. It is so easy to get caught up in things around us. I am a grateful beneficiary of "the peace that surpasses understanding..." as it is always present and available. The Church and its teachings continue to make perfect sense to me. The completeness of the Gospel as offered through continued revelation is a great blessing.

How I live my faith

I have been a Visiting Teaching Coordinator and have served as a receptionist in the Temple I am so grateful that my parents taught me the joys of service at an early age. It is a pleasure to be of service. Almost immediately after starting to attend Church, I began to teach in Primary. As a convert, I consider myself one of the lucky ones for having been able to be brought up in the Gospel as a Child of God along with the children in my classes.
