Hi I'm Walt

At 70 I am active as a sales consultant and auctioneer. I am an alcoholic. My sobriety date is Sept. 19 , 1974. I'm a Morman

About Me

I spent most of my life selling supplies to the mining and construction industries in the U.S. and internationally. My wife and I have lived in Alaska, Washington State, Delaware, New Zealand, Australia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Colorado. We have 6 children,13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. I enjoy traveling, visiting family and friends, fishing, and college sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I found my Higher Power in a 12-step program and was very comfortable with my life and serving others- My wife and I have been married over 37 years and have a grown family. Around 1995 our youngest son joined the LDS Church and then served a mission. While he was on his mission my wife and I began to attend LDS services regularly. I drank my coffee and chewed tobaco coming and going each sunday. Then one day a LDS member said "I know you are comfortable with your Lord and have a great spirit but, you are missing the next step." I thought about this, prayed for an answer and received a strong feeling he might be right. Over a short period of time I stopped using tabacco and coffee, became active in the church and contuined my 12-step program. He was right! There was another step. My wife and I enjoy greater happiness together. We have been sealed in the Temple and have the blessings of being sealed to our children (we have four children who are not members). Our life today is one of service to others. I am grateful for taking the "next step" challenge.

How I live my faith

I am now High Priest Group Leader in my ward. I am grateful for the Priesthood and use it to bless others often. Serving others brings great joy to our lives. It is especally good when one has a down day to reach out and help another
