Hi I'm Hilary Hatch

I'm 23 years old, the youngest of 5. I'm student at NAU studying sign langue to be an interpreter in legal settings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Hilary, I am 23 years old and the youngest of 5 siblings. I am going to college to study Sign Language to become an Interpreter for the Deaf in legal settings. Some things I like to do in my spare time when I am not doing homework is to cross stitch, horseback riding, fencing (swords), doing outdoor things like camping or bike riding, spending time with my family and friends and of course doing church activities. I am handicapped. I have used a wheelchair from the age of 6 and it has always been a part of who I am. I do have trials in my life that are constant but I never let that slow me down. I do not know the word "can't". I can and will do anything I put my mind to. I work, I drive, , I go to school, I have a social life, I am 99.9% independent, I do activities that most would not think I can do. With the love and full support from my parents and family members I know that I can accomplish anything.

Why I am a Mormon

Eternal families: It is my belief that families are forever, they do not just go away after one dies. you are connected with that family through time and all eternity. I also have a very strong belief of having an eternal marriage. Being able to say "for time and all eternity" instead of "til death do us part" has such a comfort to me that i will be able to see and have my future husband after death and that our children will be sealed to us for eternity. Modesty: this is also a topic that i feel strongly about. I feel like if you are a confident woman you should not have to show off your body to get the attention you want. use your attitude, not your body. I believe my body is a temple, and i respect my body as I would respect our most holy place, the temple. the atonement: I know that through the power of the atonement that we are forgiven for our sins if we only ask Heavenly Father for it. If it were not for Christ choosing to come to earth to suffer for our sins that we would not have free agency. We would not have the opportunity to make our own choices, make mistakes and then be forgiven for them. the Priesthood: I KNOW there are many times that i have been bless through the power of the priesthood. I know that there are many times in my life that I should not even be here and through the power of the priesthood and through getting blessings that I have been healed, and blessed throughout my life. I am so lucky to have a father and three brothers and a brother in law that all hold the priesthood and are worthy to hold it. The morals: i love the fact that we are against things such as taking drugs, drinking, pre-marital sex, all these things i have watched friends suffer from and it is refreshing to know that by making the choices i am that i will be blessed I know without the church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in my life i probably would not be the person I am today. I owe everything I have to the church and the people in it.

How I live my faith

1. i go to church every Sunday (with the exception of being sick) 2. i take the sacrament every week 3. i sustain and support those who receive callings 4. i participate in doing my calling as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor (a visiting teacher is there to help and support two or three other women in the ward if they need it). 5. i go to the temple when possible. 6. i attend meetings during the week whether it be Family Home evening (a time where you meet as a family to do a spiritual message and then maybe something fun), Institute (bible study), or a ward sporting event. 7. i watch General conference 8. i listen to the prophet and what he teaches us and do my best to follow what he asks of us. 9. i am an example 10. i tell people who i am and what i believe when the topic comes up
