Hi I'm Michael Lavallee Jr

I am a student, I like the outdoors as well as writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I was introduced to it via friends at school and soon enough I was baptized when I was almost 18. Although I had opposition from my family they soon accepted the fact that it was my choice and allowed it. I am a student going to BYU to study electrical engineering. I like many hobbies, that of which include, hiking, swimming, playing board and video games. I like reading and writing, doing math and robotics. I like to learn new things and I enjoy learning how to use new computer software. I like to make movies, edit photos and listen to music. I enjoy classical, country and some pop music, however I can enjoy other types as well. I have a cat and a turtle for pets and two sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is the true church of God. I looked for meaning in my life and reviewed many of the "normal" churches, such as Catholic, protestant etc, however none of them gave me the surety that the Mormon Church does. I am a Mormon because I felt the Holy Spirit confirm the teachings of the missionaries, prove the Book of Mormon is Holy Scripture to be studied along with The Holy Bible. Being Mormon brings so many blessings into my life and allows me to be comforted in times of sadness and trial. I know my purpose here on Earth, I know I have chosen to come here and I know I am a son of God. I am a Mormon because I wish to follow the FULL teachings of Jesus Christ, my savior and redeemer. I wish to become more like Him and to be brought before Him on the Last Day. I know I can do so by following His teachings which are the doctrine of this church. I love him and will follow His commandments for I know the reward is great in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I am new to the Church but I take all the opportunity I have to make it a good place. I go to church every Sunday and pay tithing without hesitation. I attend my youth group programs and even attended early morning church classes: called seminary. I try to be a good servant to the Lord and His people, I help teach the young, by being their friend and example. I have now even been called as a Sunday School teacher for 11-13 year olds. I read the scriptures and try to study them regularly. I take my home teaching very seriously and love teaching and making sure all our ward members are ok and have met their needs. I show my love and faith for the Lord by keeping his commandments, and where I fail I repent and ask for forgiveness. I take the words of our leaders and Prophet to heart for I know they are representatives of God. I am planning on going on a full mission to further serve the Lord and His people.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Michael Lavallee Jr
In the Mormon church, when we attend our Sunday Service we wear some of our best and modest clothing. This includes suits, shirts and ties for the men and young men, and modest dresses or skirts and blouses for the women and young women. As for holidays we share the same holidays as other major Christian religions, majorly, Christmas and Easter. We also celebrate the local and national holidays like Thanksgiving, Valentines Day and others like it. Show more Show less
