Hi I'm Tiffany

I'm a wife, and a stay at home mom to 3 great kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most amazing man. Together we're raising our 2 boys and daughter. I live on a hobby farm of 5 acres, with 3 dogs, chickens, goats and meat rabbits. I'm learning to garden organically and enjoy canning, baking and cooking up "artificial free" delights for my family. it's not uncommon to find me searching for another treasure; a cute new outfit or groovy chair to recover, at the local thrift store or garage sale. I can proudly say that the majority of my family's belongings were previously loved by someone else! Sewing, crocheting and reading fill much of my "free" time during the months that are too cold to hike, camp, bike ride, garden or swim.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to a mormon church and always felt pretty sure that what I was being taught was true, but I stopped going to church in my early teens. Without the guidance and direction of regular church activity and wholesome friendships I started making ridiculous choices. It wasn't until my second son was born that I came to my senses and fell to my knees to pray for forgiveness. With the help of my bishop and new found friends in the church I found out what it feels like to be forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ, and to be loved. Now after nearly 11 years of consistantly seeking a closer relationship with my Savior I realize a little bit more each day how much Heavenly Father loves each one of His children, including me. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ, and it holds so many beautiful and good gifts and treasures for all who will partake of them to enjoy. It is these gifts and treasures that make the members of this church so happy. We want to share all that we have with the world! I'm a mormon because Jesus Christ is MY Savior and redeemer!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching basic gospel principles to the women of our church on the third Sunday of each month. After spending 10 years teaching in the children's program this was quite a change for me! I loved teaching the kids and coming up with fun activities and games to help them learn the gospel. When I was asked to teach the women instead, I was surprised. I knew I would miss the kids, but I also knew the change would help me grow. Teaching the amazing women that I look up to at church was quite intimidating at first, but I've learned that as I pray for guidance and study the material He helps me through each lesson! I also get to care for people in our church who have need for care of themselves or their families. It's my job to work with a committee to coordinate and deligate the care of these families through the loving hands of others in our church. So if Suzy So-n-so suddenly finds her back thrown out of whack, I might make arrangements for child care of her little ones that she cannot lift, and find some loving families to bring in dinner and run her vacuum or washing machine while she rests! I also enjoy visiting 4 women in their homes each month with a gospel centered lesson. We all keep in touch through the month and help eachother out, just like "sisters" should! My children and husband are the center of my day, and I enjoy caring for our home and planning our days. I love to volunteer in my children's schools, in between treasure hunting at the thrift store and hunting down the nearest place to buy a case of organic apples! I know that even though I'm "just a stay-at-home mom" the small things I do can make a difference in other people's lives. I have had amazing faith building experiences while listening to an elderly lady at the thrift store, or being able to help a young mom with her groceries at the super-market! We never know when a small gesture of kindness or service on our part is really an answer to someone else's prayers!
