Hi I'm VaLynn

I grew up on a ranch. I came to the city to get a degree in science. Now I'm a full time, sometimes organized mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to read and watch movies. I have been a mom for 18+ years and a spouse for 19+. I love my marriage. I am home schooling for the first time this year and am scared but I have prayed about it and it is what God wants me to do. When I am more organized I like to write about the funny things that have happened to me and also to scrapbook.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and the things such a God's love, modesty and forever families seemed to be as much part of me as my personality. As I became older and needed to have my own testimony I received a witness from God through the Holy Spirit of those truths I prayed to know. Sometimes it happened quickly and some things I am still praying about. I never stop learning and am still very much a child when it comes to the knowledge I have. It seems the more I learn the more that I see that I need to learn and understand. I have many imperfections and faults but I know that every day I can begin again and that always, always my Heavenly Father and Jesus love me so very much.

How I live my faith

I have done many things in my time as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). Mostly when I was younger I helped with the young children. Now I lead music in women's group which is a challenge for me and I will soon be helping in Cub Scouts. I also have women I am responsible for to love and become friends with and take care of and I am blessed to also have two wonderful women who are responsible for me in the same way. As a family we try to have a weekly devotional, nightly family prayer and nightly scripture study.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

All of us have a chance to be part of a family. It should be a place where we can feel loved and safe. I had a chance to be a part of that kind of family and want to provide that to my family. I have met many through the years that have not been blessed with love and/or safety within their families because family values were not upheld. The things I learned and the way I grew and the good person I am is in a great deal due to the way I was raised. Family first brings great people into this world and great people with great values make this a better world. Mormons want this world to be a better place for their families and others families.
