Hi I'm Abby

I'm a swimmer, attend college, love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just started college and I love it already. I'm majoring in Early Childhood Education because I want to teach pre-school once I've accquired my bachelor's degree. I have 3 siblings, an older brother on a mission in San Antonio, Texas, a younger sister who's a junior in high school, and a younger brother who is a freshman in high school. I love my parents very much, they are my role models and heroes. I started swimming competetively when I was 10 years old and loved it. I swam on a team called the Dolphin Swim Team that practiced at the highs chool's pool. Little did I know when I started that I would stick with it for so long. I swam for the high school team and it was my absolute favorite part of high school. I made so many best friends and learned how to work hard and never quit. Now that I'm in college I swim with a few friends from my dorm in the mornings because my school doesn't have a swim team. Swimming has been a huge part of my life, but so has the gospel. Through every hard time or big decision, I've had the gospel to turn to. No matter what I'm going through, I can always count on it to be there with answers. Even when I'm starting this new life in college and everything is hectic and new, the gospel remains my one constant. I know without a doubt that it is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon not only because I was born in the church, but because I've grown to love it. It is my support and strength in a world of chaos and trials. It's a way of life that just comes naturally to me, and I know that without it I would be a completely different person. Through the gospel I can find true happiness and be forgiven for the mistakes I make all the time. The priesthood is incredibly important and I am so blessed to have grown up in a home where a worthy pristehood holder was always present. The priesthood is unique to our church and it's phenomenal. I know that this gospel is true, and it always will be.

How I live my faith

I've been blessed to be able to serve as a visiting teaching coordinator for a singles ward this past summer, and I was also able to go visiting teaching for the first time ever. The ward here at college is just getting started, but I'm so excited to be able to serve as a Gospel Doctrine Sunday school teacher. I will be able to learn more about the Gospel and teach what I find to others.
