Hi I'm Eva

I'm a Mormon, a wife, a mother of a 2 year old boy, and a full-time engineer at an aerospace company.

About Me

I am married to my husband of 4 years and we have a 2 year old son. I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering and I work at an aerospace company. I love to travel to new places and learn new languages, especially German and Arabic. I enjoy volleyball, softball, hiking, camping, shopping, baking, and singing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have received witness in my heart of its truthfulness. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who has created a plan for us, his children, that we may return to him. Through being a member of His church, I have come to know more about Heavenly Father's plan for us, and about our Savior, Jesus Christ, who has made it possible for us to return to our Father through the atonement.

How I live my faith

I strive to learn more about the gospel and become more like Christ by reading the scriptures, contemplating the things I've read, and praying about them. I strive to follow the teachings of Christ and to focus my time and energy on positive, uplifting activities that will invite the spirit into my life. I also enjoy meeting with members of my community who share the same beliefs as me at church every Sunday. Whenever I move to a new location, I know that I will be able to meet people and make new friends at church. I also know that I am never alone because I can have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion as long as I am worthy.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

The way that we dress is a personal expression and it sends a message to others whether we realize it or not. Dressing modestly sends the message that we have respect for ourselves and for the body that God gave us. The body is sacred and it is worth protecting. When I dress modestly, I feel like I am protecting my body and my virtue by letting others know that my body is sacred and that I have self-respect. As my son grows, my husband and I will teach him about modesty and chastity primarily through our example. Being modest includes dressing modestly, using uplifting language, and behaving respectably.
