Hi I'm Carissa

I am a wife and mother of 4 beautiful girls & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my middle school sweetheart :), we have been married for 9 years & have 4 daughters. Our youngest is just 2 months, and our oldest is turning 8 & will be baptised next month. I enjoy spending time with my family! I am a cake decorator. I work from home occasionally on wedding & special occasion cakes. This gives me the opportunity to be a stay @ home mom. I also enjoy playing basketball & volleyball on our church teams. I love to teach my kids & watch them learn & grow. We love to do family outings, even just a picnic @ the park or a short hike on a nearby trail. The most important thing to me is to raise strong, kind, faithful daughters that will be great wives & mothers, and strong members of this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were members of the church. I am the 3rd daughter of 5 to my mother & father. When I was 8, 2 significant thing happened to me; I was baptised a member of the church, and my parents got a divorce. My mother & father were both remarried shortly after, and almost 20 years later are still married to their spouses. I went to church with my family because that was just what we did. After I graduated from high school I attended BYU-Idaho for 2 years, this is where I truly gained a testimony of the gospel. I lived in a house with 17 other girls who of course were all very different. I formed bonds with these girls as we got to know each other & shared our testimonies with each other. I learned that the more I shared it the more it grew, and the more I tried to live the teachings of the gospel the easier it was. Heavenly Father blessed me as I made an effort, and before I really realized it I had my own testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I love this gospel. I love the teachings & the life that it has helped me shape. It is all about family, & that is truly the most important thing, my husband and my children. Do u imagine heaven as a bunch of single people? 'Till death do u part' Isnt that a part of all civil marriage ceremonies? It wouldnt be heaven if we were there without our spouses & families, we would all be lost. This gospel allows us to be married for eternity, and for that I am truly grateful to my savior Jesus Christ. Without this gospel I'd feel lost. Keeping a marriage strong and raising daughters in this world would be very challenging without the anchor that we have in this gospel. I am incredibly blessed. and that is why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving. I am grateful for service. Service is the 'cure all' for me. I believe people would be happier & more fulfilled if they served more. I am blessed to serve in our church by helping to organize functions for the adult women. We get together once a month for an activity. The whole purpose is to help our sisters become more self-reliant & to grow spiritually together. When I serve it helps me feel better about me. I love that Heavenly Father knows us each individually. He brings people into our lives that we need and that need us & we are able to bless each other.
