Hi I'm Lowell Bennett

I am a snowboarder, eagle scout, basketball player, corporate analyst, father of four and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sometimes you must travel far to find what is near. For me it took moving to Hawaii to realize I wanted to marry the girl next door. I grew up in the same small town I was born in and always wanted to get out and see the world. There was always that sense of something more that I was missing, and I traveled to the bottom of the world--New Zealand to find what I was looking for. I wanted INNER PEACE and looked for it in all the wrong places. My journey took me through various religious experiments, through the valley of addictions, and eventually on a life-flight helicopter to the hospital. Finally when I quit looking for that INNER PEACE from outside sources, I found it in my soul. I traveled far to find what was near.

Why I am a Mormon

The cool thing about being a Mormon is FREE AGENCY. When God created this earth for his children He gave us 2 amazing gifts, 1) Free Agency & 2) Procreation. He gave us many options to choose from, and rewards associated with each option. For years I didn't want to acknowledge my responsibility in choosing the rewards I was getting. When I realized my choices always had connected rewards then I started discovering the INNER PEACE I was looking for. Being a Mormon doesn't make life easy, it makes life understandable! Being a Mormon helped me find out about the PLAN OF HAPPINESS, and how to overcome my weaknesses and mistakes. Knowing that my brother Jesus Christ came to earth to find me and help me overcome ALL the spiritual & physical short comings. That knowledge makes overcoming the challenges of life easier, and the example of Jesus helps me see my potential. (Romans 8:16-18)

How I live my faith

The best way I find to live my faith is to serve, starting with my Wife, family members, and neighbors. Jesus taught us to love one another as he loved us. From my point of view the way Jesus taught us to love is through service to others. Being a Mormon is like being adopted into a worldwide family, every week all around the world we are all teaching the same lessons from the Bible, Book of Mormon, and standard works. We are all having activities where we can play games, learn new skills in scouts, or join in a service project. I have enjoyed activities that have taken me to the top of the Rocky Mountains, thru Slot Canyons, Rafting the Snake River, and many adventures with both youth and adult groups. I live my faith by sharing the talents God has blessed me with, by helping others to grow and learn. In this amazing process I have discovered the Plan of Happiness always gives me back more than I put in. What goes around comes around, so I spend time strengthening others. It always brings a feeling of INNER PEACE and I feel my Savior near.
