Hi I'm Diana

Our family has belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for seven generations.

About Me

We moved to Seattle the day of our wedding thirty years ago. The first year I remember complaining that the sun had appeared only three times in the month of June. Now I worry if three days pass without rain. I like to pull weeds, make pies and raise chickens.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I have discovered for myself that there is greater happiness and peace in the principles and covenants of membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe this is the church of Jesus Christ and that He directs the our prophet, President Monson. All people are encouraged to "prove all things" and receive a personal confirmation of what is true. Then it is up to our personal commitment to "hold fast that which is good."

How I live my faith

For me Christianity is validated by service and there are plenty of opportunities in our community and within our congregation. Our women's auxilliary serves lunch at a local shelter for homeless, we collect food, household goods and hygiene supplies for charity agencies in our area. We look after one another in our neighborhoods. We try to live up to the example of Christ whose "charity never faileth". An important part of my faith is doing genealogy. My life is a product of the work and sacrifices of generations of ancestors. I am grateful for them, and I owe it to them to find out who they are and what they experienced in their lives. I want to be linked to them.
