Hi I'm Jeannie.

I grew up in Montana, but now live in Washington. I love the beauty of the world all around me.

About Me

I am 59 years young. I enjoy being with my children and grandchildren. I like reading mysteries. One of my favorite things to do is to can vegetables and fruit and make butters and jam. Because I'm diabetic I have been trying to produce sugar-free jams. I also like to put together puzzles. I enjoy gardening...on my deck. I use Earth Boxes because we have very claylike soil and the way our house is set on our lot, there isn't a lot of light to garden in. Our deck is high and we get morning and afternoon sun there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was a little girl my grandparents joined the church and they encouraged my Mom to join also. My Dad chose not to join. I gained a testimony of the church when I was going to my first year of college and I sought to know if the church was true or not. I went to our church one day and started sincerely praying to know if it was true. I received my answer that it was and have been active in the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints ever since then. I feel the Church has guided me for the rest of my life. I learned to pray and study the scriptures and other church materials and to listen to the Holy Ghost. I love Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer and try to follow him each day. I also am grateful for the fellowship I receive from members of my church family.

How I live my faith

Going to church every Sunday for 3 hours is very rewarding. It gives me a good "shot in the arm" to start out my week. I rely on prayer, reading scriptures and other church materials and the Holy Ghost to help me during the week. I also give a visit to 4 sisters in my church as part of my responsibility to help others in the church and I receive a visit each month also. I really enjoy these visits....they help me to know that others are going through some of the same things I am. It is very helpful. My job in the Church is to be a Ward Missionary. My husband is also a Ward Missionary and we go to new members homes and teach them about the church and try to strengthen their knowledge and testimony of the church, as well as answer questions they may have.
