Hi I'm Ginger

I am a college student, a mother of five, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five children all under the ages of 8. I have one boy and four girls, and, of course, my boy is the hardest. I am currently going to college to get my bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a concentration in human services. I have already graduated with my paralegal degree. I want to become a CPS worker, and maybe one day, a lawyer. I really believe that the family is the best thing in the world and I want all families to stay together if at all possible. I can see how the world teaches you how to abandon things when the going gets tough. I really think that by working in the "family" system, I will have more of an opportunity to help people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Heavenly Father approves and sustains this church. I think that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only one out there that has the fullness of the gospel. I believe that prophets are not a fantasy written in some old book. I believe that we have a prophet and that The Book of Mormon is true. I know that the world is trying to constantly convince us against the most basic of truths. I know that Jesus Christ directs this church through the prophet President Thomas S. Monson. I was raised in the church but that does not mean that I did not have to discover the truth of it just like most people. I was blessed by having the church early on so as to direct me through my wayward time. I did things that would have not allowed me to go back to live with my Heavenly Father. After I had my first child, I knew that I needed to figure it out for her. I then started to take the steps to finding my testimony. This did not come all at once. It was something that I have to work at. Because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, I am here today. My testimony continues to grow as well as my trials.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing simple acts of kindness. I try to love my neighbor as myself. I continue to read the scriptures and say my prayers. If I am able, I tell people about the gospel. I open my home to people in need. I also give to others whenever I can. I go to church on Sunday's and to the Temple when I can.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We believe that that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same church that had been on earth when Jesus was here. This means that all things were restored including tithe, only now instead of the firstling of our flocks, we are to pay 10% of our income. This money is used to help build up the kingdom of God on earth. We build his kingdom by building more temples and churches. The money that is left can be used for items such as improvements to buildings. I also know that when we do what is asked of us the Lord is bound to do what he has promised. "The Lord will open the windows of heaven and pour down blessings that there will not be room enough to receive them" (Malachi 3:8-10). He has promised us that if we pay 10% of our income first, he will provide for us. We also believe that God has provided all that we have. I know that when I pay my tithing, my life is richer.
