Hi I'm Skylar

I grew up in Las Vegas NV for 17 years, and lived in Sarasota Florida until I graduated. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a full-time missionary right now serving in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission! I love to snowboard and to just kick it with friends! I love the island lifestyle, and reggae music. I love the outdoors and anything that has to do with sports!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because God has always been right by my side even when I wasn't looking for him in my life! There came a time when I had to figure out if the Book of Mormon was true and if I should serve a mission. I had been to different churchs and never did I feel like it was right it was always just a cold empty feeling. I went to what I had been raised on and started reading from the beginning of the Book of Mormon. After two nights of fervent prayer our Heavenly Father answered my prayers on the third morning at work. I was driving down the interstate with another gentleman who knew nothing about the church and he looked at me and said "so when you going on a mission bro." I knew at this point in my life God had used a man who knew NOTHING about what I believed to answer my prayers, I still hear those words echo in my head, and it will be something I will never forget! From that point in my life I have committed to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ to my fullest ability and to never look back on the life I use to live. Since making that choice I have been happier than I have ever been in my entire life. I know that God has restored his gospel and authority to baptize through the Prophet Joseph Smith and that the Book of Mormon is another witness that he does reach out to all of his children by showing his love for us by calling Prophets in the modern day to guide us in these times of confusion.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first by serving a mission for two years leaving behind all other affairs and focusing on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that people can have a chance to hear the truth and follow the example of Jesus Christ by being baptized by one holding the authority of God and making covenants that will help them prepare for eternity. Also I read from my scriptures every morning so that I can start my day out right and ponder the things I read and how they can help not only myself but others that I come into contact with. I would also say that prayer is something that has gotten me to where I am today and that prayer is essential in my every day life.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Well just look outside! Nothing just happens like this and there not be a creator behind it. Look at the detail in the plants and the nature that is all around us. If thats not enough for you pray and ask sincerely that you can know if he exist, and to feel his love for you! I promise that if you do it you will know with a surety that there is a God. What is being a Mormon like?

Being Mormon is the best thing ever! I have never been so free in my life! Some people think that we live by some really strict rules but let me tell you they allow you to be free from things that can affect your happiness in life. You not only have a family in your home but you have a huge church family that would do anything for you within there means. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Heck yes I do believe that there is a prophet on the earth again today! In Mathew Christ warns us to beware of false prophets but by their fruits you shall know them. The Book of Mormon is a fruit of Joseph Smith and it is something that you can hold in your hands examine and then ask God through sincere prayer if it is true. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever he calls prophets in our modern day so that we can have the guidance we need through these changing times in the world, and know exactly how we need to live our lives.
