Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a strong Latter Day Saint Family who have been members for generations except for my dads dad. my grandfather was introduce to the church at age 10 he and a friend were walking home from school one day and heard some LDS missionaries singing a church song in their apartment. they stopped to listen to them. the missionaries notice them and came out to talk to them and invited them to church. My grandfather then told them where he lived and the next day they showed up at his home his mom was the only one home at the time and she invited them to come back that evening. when she told the family about the Mormon Missionaries coming after dinner that day her husband immediately asked "do they have horns"? her answer was no they were very polite clean cut young men. My grandfather goes on to share that they Taught his family the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its saving influence in our lives. They enjoyed their visits and kept inviting them back to teach them more. eventually all were baptized and he was married to my grandmother in the Salt Lake City temple. he is past away now and me and my family miss him a lot but i can testify to you that i will see him again and i know that through the blessings of the temple, families can be together forever! this Gospel has taught me that and i know in my heart that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ sit at the head of this church and that they restored it in its fullness. that is why I'm a Mormon. I love this gospel and love to serve and help others.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher for the youth in our Ward or congregation. I teach the 12-14 year old girls on Sunday during the 3rd hour of our meetings. My husband also teaches the youth and is the 1st counselor in the young mend presidency. We enjoy teaching and helping the youth learn about the gospel and life skills they will need in the future.

What is faith?

Caralee Kelly
Faith to me is a measure of ones trust and belief in something or someone that may or may not be seen or tangible but can be felt in your heart and in your mind. It is the little acts that govern our every day activities. it takes faith to know when you walk out of the house the ground is going to be solid and gravity is going to hold you down.. it takes faith to know when you drive under or over a bridge its not going to crumble on you because that structure is sound and built properly. and it takes faith to repent and correct sins that we have made believing in our savior Jesus Christ and in the sacrifice he made for all of us that allows us to be forgiven for those sins and return to live with him again.
