Hi I'm Jim

I'm a husband of one and a father of five. I should exercise more and eat fewer cookies. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family! I find joy in being with my husband and five children. I also love my career; I teach special education classes in the elementary school and middle school. I enjoy baking treats/desserts a couple of times a week. I usually make 10-12 dozen cookies at a time. Yum! I've had MS for the past 14 years. I walk (sort of!) with a lumbering gait. Sometimes I use walking sticks and sometimes I use a wheelchair, but my favorite aide is leaning on another person's arm. I love to read and just finished "Half Broke Horses" and am on the waiting list at the library for "The Help".

Why I am a Mormon

In my profession I see daily how harshly the world can treat us. My religion centers me on what's important. I have a clear direction. I know where I want to be and how to get there. Being a Mormon keeps me grounded.

How I live my faith

It is easy for me to be a Mormon. I live my faith by working with the women at church. I also love teaching the small children on Sundays. Sometimes I play the organ for our services (but my hands tend to shake) and sometimes I sing in the choir. I try to live my faith every time I walk out the door whether I am at school, Costco or stopped at a red light.
