Hi I'm Jolene

I am a mother of 5 and a proud grandmother of 7!! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in many different states, but I lived the longest in Alaska and loved it!! I am a wife, mother and grandmother and love my family dearly. I love being outdoors, I love warm weather, I like to craft and I especially like to spend time with all of my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I was born into a family that was part Mormon (my mom was and my dad was not any religion). I grew up going to church and loving it. My dad was always supportive, but only attended very rarely. As a teenager, I enjoyed going to seminary, mutual and church on Sundays, but after a year of college ( I went to BYU in Provo, Utah), I chose not to attend church at that time in my life. I guess I needed to try for myself what I really wanted out of life and what I believed. I then married and began a family several years later. As my children began to grow, I had the urge to return to church so that they could learn of our Savior Jesus Christ. As I returned, I knew that it was exactly where I wanted to be, I KNEW then that the church was true and that the feeling of something missing in my life, was the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! I have been strengthened throughout the years since my return to church. My children have grown up knowing their Savior and the sacrifice He made for them. I know that throughout the many trials that I have had in my life, that I have not been alone to deal with them, that I have been watched over by my Heavenly Father and that my life has been on the course that He wants for me. I love my Savior and Father in Heaven with all my heart and strive to follow the commandments so that I may return to them someday. I know without a doubt that this is the true church and I know if people would take the time to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pray to know for themselves that they would receive a witness of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church and in our community. As a community volunteer, I have been active in many Parent/Teacher Associations, High School Booster Clubs, Science Fair Judging, Community Clean up Projects, Blood Drives and just many hours spent at my childrens schools helping out. In church, I have spent many hours working with the youth of the church. I am now what is called Young Women President, I serve with several other ladies in our church to help the young women (ages 12-18) come closer to Christ and their families. I have the opportunity to meet with these wonderful young ladies on Sundays and Wednesdays. I know that it is very important to make sure that I am being a good example in all that I do, so that these young ladies will want to continue to come and learn so that their testimonies of their Savior and Father in Heaven will continue to grow. I love my calling and I love serving others. I am also a Visiting Teacher to 3 ladies in the ward, which means I have the privilege of visiting with each of them at separate times to get to know them and help them if needed. My life has been truly blessed by serving in and out of the church. I strive to always be an example, so that people that know me, will know that I believe in Jesus Christ and I follow Him.
