Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a police composite artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad, a husband, a brother and a son. I work full time for a university and attend the university myself. I have children that range in age from being a senior in college to kindergarten so between working my full time job (which is demanding), attending the children's activities, taking care of the chores around the house and doing my homework I sometimes wonder how I'm going to get through the week in one piece. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing any of them well and its easy to feel overwhelmed. I know what the most important thing in my life is and that is my family. My wife and I have a blended family so that comes with its own challenges. We don't always agree on everything but in the end we all love one another and we continue to grow closer together as we spend quality time with one another which is one of our favorite things to do. We love hiking, going to baseball games, riding our bikes, traveling and popping popcorn and sitting down to a good movie.

Why I am a Mormon

when I was a child my mother was a member of the Mormon Church but my father was not. It wasn't until I was about eight that my father joined the church and we started attending on a regular basis. I guess you could say I started to go to church like most other people in every religion, because we were drug there every Sunday by our parents. As I grew older and went through my own trials in life I began to gain my own testimony. I began to learn what it meant to have a relationship with my Father in Heaven and what the Atonement of Jesus Christ meant to me personally. Today I bring my children to church every Sunday and I'm sure they probably feel the same way I did when I was their age. The funny thing is all those years I attended I never realized until I was older what a strong foundation that built for me in my life and how much I rely on those teachings everyday as an adult. I know though my own personal experiences that Jesus Christ lives and he is the Savior of the world. I know that he atoned for my sins and he knows me personally and loves me. As I look back on the trials of my life I know that there is no way I could have made it through without prayer, love and a sincere desire to have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. Today I couldn't be happier. Do I still have stresses and trying times? In this world how can you not? But with my foundation built upon the teachings of Jesus Christ I know and have faith that I can weather any storm.

How I live my faith

I love the people at that I go to church with and they have all become an extended part of my family. We all tend to each-others needs and are willing to devote our time and talents to the welfare of not only our fellow members but also those outside our faith. We recognize that we are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and he loves us ALL. I currently have an assignment in my church in a leadership position. I work with the men and tend to their spiritual and temporal needs. I help coordinate family visits through our church community which allows us to help those that might be in need of any assistance. I love my calling. Before my current position I was a Sunday School teacher for 13 year old teenagers. I probably don't have to explain the challenges of teaching teenagers but I came to understand them and built relationships with them allowing me to learn how amazing they were and I wouldn't trade that for the world.
