Hi I'm Mark

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, and looking forward to serving a mission with my wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in south east Idaho. I am the father of five children, and the grandfather of nineteen grandchildren with another expected soon. I attended Brigham Young University, and then spent forty years developing software in the aerospace industry in Washington State. I am planning to leave to serve a full time mission with my wife shortly.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church. Both of my parents were descendents of early pioneers who came across the plains. One of the things which has welded me most strongly to the Church is the Book of Mormon. I read the Book of Mormon multiple times as a youth and felt the spirit testify of it's truth long before I got to the verses near the end where the prophet Moroni promises that if you ask God regarding it's truthfulness he will manifest the truth of it by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Book of Mormon deepens my understanding of the power of the the atoning sacrifice of my Savior.

How I live my faith

I enjoy the opportunity to attend church each Sunday to partake of the sacrament and listen to the messages. I appreciate also the opportunity that the church provides to be of service to others in the church and community. Over the years I have had the opportunity to serve as a leader in the men’s organization, and also to serve in several clerk positions. I have been able to observe the love of the church leaders for those they serve. I have had the opportunity of serving in the temple for the last few years, and love the spirit I feel there.
