Hi I'm Lauren

I live in the United States. I am a scientist and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, but I have spent most of my life in Washington State. I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. I worked for a couple of years as a Microbiologist/Regulatory Manager for a company in Utah that sold disinfectants until my husband finished school and we moved back to Washington. My husband and I enjoy traveling and we visited East Asia and Central America before we decided to expand our family. Currently and most importantly, I am a mom to two beautiful girls. They are all my dreams that I haven’t yet realized and they fill my soul with joy. As many know, I have found that being a mom is the hardest job I have attempted, but it is by far the most fulfilling and I enjoy every moment! When I find time to myself, I love relaxing and reading a good book. Living in Washington provides many opportunities to do the things I love - things outdoors like hiking, snowboarding, water sports, rock climbing, etc… And of course, I love being with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church and my conversion has happen slowly, over time, and I feel I am being constantly converted everyday. I am a Latter-Day Saint because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and he loves me. I know Joseph Smith Jr. saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that they directed him to bring forth the restored Gospel for me in these times. I know that all I have to do is to do my best and he will take care of the rest. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus love all people and will give his truth at one time or another to all people for them to accept. I know that the Book of Mormon is truth given to the people in the Americas and that Christ appeared to them as well as the people in Jerusalem. I know that my Savior loves me enough to give me a prophet in these times that tells me things God wants me to hear. I know Thomas S. Monson is that prophet at this time. I am a Latter-Day Saint because these things are constantly being reinforced in my life all the time through my environment, through people I love and through myself. I know that the love I feel from my Savior is love that all people can feel, that all people should feel and I hope that I can help in accomplishing that purpose.

How I live my faith

Giving service to my community and church helps me forget about myself and my problems, which is a great blessing. I help out in the church in my area by organizing our women’s Sunday meetings, getting lessons together and often conducting those meetings. I visit women in our area and make sure their needs are being met. I support the leaders in our church and help them accomplish their jobs. We are often involved in lots of service projects and I help organize those. I try to extend a hand of friendship to all that come to church and help them feel they have a friend.
