Hi I'm Elise

I am a wife, a mother, and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Teaching, learning, and creating are what make my life meaningful. Currently meaning comes to me as the wife and mother of a newly blended family of eight children and as an elementary school teacher. Friends and extended family also provide joy and enrichment in my life. I enjoy reading, sewing, gardening, crafting, decorating, and walking through autumn leaves.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the fullness of the gospel found only in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born to parents who taught me the truth and showed me the way to live. I live the gospel today because I know it is the only way to find true joy and happiness in this life. Living the teachings of the gospel frees me from the troubles and sorrows of the world and keeps me focused on what true happiness and joy can be found here on the earth and for eternity. Being a Mormon helps me focus on what is truly important in life, love. Love of family, love of friends, and love of our Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of the believers. I teach the gospel. I serve those in need. I share my talents with others. Like many people, I have faced challenges and trials in my life. There was a time in my life when I thought all was lost and hopeless. My father gave me some wise counsel. He said, “You can choose to give up if you want to. Just know that whatever you choose to do, that is what your children will do also.” Initially I pressed on trying to do what was right and choosing to make life better for them. Soon I had new dreams of my own so that living by faith again became easier. The blessings flowed from heaven more abundantly than I could have imagined. At times others ask how I got through that time in my life. I’ve learned to answer by saying, “I am so blessed. The Lord knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it. He loves us so much that when I gave all my faith and trust to Him, He gave us everything we needed and more.”
