Hi I'm Lori

I am a dental student, I'm a former Miss Teen of Wyoming, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my last year of dental school in Nebraska. Besides dentistry, I love playing the violin, painting and sculpting, doing photography, and traveling the world. Being half Japanese and half Caucasian, I get the best of both worlds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon (LDS) church, but I made the decision to stay in the church earlier this year. I was dating a guy who belonged to the Lutheran church. We were crazy about each other, but neither of us wanted to leave our religions and neither of us wanted to have a split household (meaning we didn’t want to get married unless we could agree on one religion). He made it clear that he was always going to be Lutheran and he tried to get me to believe that the LDS church was false, but I could not deny that this church is true. I had to make the hardest decision in my life. After 4 years of being with this man who I loved dearly, I let him go for the gospel. I wanted the blessings that the LDS church has to offer; blessings that no other church can give me. More importantly, I have faith and a testimony that this church is true and I cannot deny that, even for love. It was not easy to let him go, but I know that I cannot be truly happy without this gospel and now I am on the road to that happiness I have been seeking.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the Lord's commandments and follow His teachings. I don't drink alcohol or do drugs, and I take care of my body by eating right and staying healthy. In church, I serve as the Compassionate Service Leader where I get to pass out candy to the girls in my ward, send birthday/get well/sympathy cards to them, and make sure that everyone feels loved. :)
