Hi I'm Steve Hanson

I’m somewhat of an outdoors junky, I'm a Human Resources professional, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Utah, am somewhat of a recreational sports junky, and love the outdoors. I am an avid snow and water skier, enjoy rock-climbing, travel to Montana for fly-fishing, and am a certified scuba driver. Recently, started running again. I am married and have 4 wonderful children. Family life can be busy, but it is also rewarding. I work in the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations at the and studied at the University of Minnesota.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an organization that provides direction and guidance to some of life’s most concerning questions. It lets me know who I am, why I am here, and lets me know that I have the opportunity to be with my family after this life. God called prophets in biblical times to provide clarification and understanding. In the early 1800s God called another prophet to give direction to the people of the earth and The Church of Jesus Christ, of the Latter-day was established. I am a member of the church for many reasons: I don’t have to question millions of conflicting messages, I know what God wants because the current prophet gives direction, and I can pray and ask God to provide confirmation, and then I can confidently move forward in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day, from activities I choose to participate in to the entertainment I choose to view. Being a Mormon is not just a Sunday event, it is a lifestyle. I know who I am and what I want. I choose to live my life purposefully so my family grows closer together, so that I can make a positive difference, and so every day is rewarding--even if it is challenging.
