Hi I'm Marianne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 26 year old mom of 2, almost 3. I am married to my best friend/college sweetheart. I have never felt so much joy and love then by fulfilling these 2 important roles. Though I was sure that I wanted to be a wife and mother more the anything, I have a hard time being sure about a lot of other aspects of my life. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I like to dip my hands a little into everything. At one point or another I wanted to be a concert pianist, interior designer, architect, photographer, wedding planner, educator, entrepreneur, counselor and the list goes on. I figure it will come to me when it needs to, but for now I am living it up with my 2 and 4 year old at home. And I truly don't want to be anywhere else.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. My parents came from strong Mormon families and we continued the tradition. As a grew older and more independent it came time to determine whether I was a Mormon out of tradition or whether I truly believed what my parents had taught me. Through prayer and study I have gained my own testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ o f Latter Day Saints is the true church. That Joseph Smith is a true prophet and through him Jesus Christ has established His church upon the earth. There is a stirring in my heart when I feel the spirit testifying to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. And I have only found the stirring when I am living the gospel and following what my Savior would have me do.

How I live my faith

Though I have my shortcomings, and there are many of them, I have always tried to have my faith at the center of my life. It is always at the center of all my "big" decisions and probably more for of the small ones that I realize. I feel like I am who I am because of my faith. I have conversations with husband a lot about would we do this if we didn't believe what we believe. It's an interesting thing to think about. As far as what I do with in the church I serve as the Primary Chorister/Song Leader. I get to spend a lot of time with the children ages 3-11 teaching them songs about the savior and our church. There is a beautiful thing about listening to the sweet young voices of the church singing their hearts out..." I Am A Child of God."
