Hi I'm Lisa

I'm 28. I'm a stay at home Mom of 5. I adore my husband, and I love to have fun with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play outside. Our family loves to go to the lake and swim, kayak, and go water skiing and tubing behind Grandpa's boat. We love hiking and camping and spending time together. When I was 22, I learned that my Mom could slalom water ski, and I was shocked! She never had before because she always had little ones to take care of, and she was so generous putting the needs of her nine kids above her own. I decided right then that I wanted my kids to know that I knew how to have fun, and we've tried our best to do that ever since! Spending time together as a family is important to me, and as we get out of the house and do things together, we laugh together, and encourage each other as we do hard things, and our relationships with each other grow stronger. One of the things I love about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints, is that it teaches so much about the importance of families, and about being together with my family forever. I am so grateful for that blessing.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints makes me happy. I love the peace I feel as I try to do what's right. I am grateful for the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father, especially as I am trying to be a good wife and mother. I know that Heavenly Father loves these children that I am raising, and that he helps me. Being a parent is hard sometimes, and I am far from perfect, but as I try to be patient and loving with my children, my home is more peaceful and my children are happier. I have recognized that as I am closer to the Savior, when I am being obedient to the things I have been asked to do, it is easier to be a 'more patient-less frustrated' Mom. As I attend my church meetings, and serve others, including my family, I feel strengthened and encouraged to keep trying to do the best I can. I know that Heavenly Father knows who I am, and is mindful of my struggles and my insecurities, and I can feel his loving arms around me when I am having a hard time. I am so very grateful for the gospel in my life and the blessings it bring to me. Especially the opportunity to be with my family forever. I love my husband and my children so very much, and I know that Heavenly Father loves each of us, even more than that.

How I live my faith

On Sundays, I teach the 16-18 year old girls. I absolutely love it. The girls are so much fun, and we have become great friends. The other leaders I work with are wonderful, and I really look forward to serving in this way. I also attend the Tuesday night youth activities. It has been so wonderful to get to know the youth so well. They are absolutely amazing. They struggle with so much pressure from school, and friends, and yet they rise above it all to be kind, sweet teenagers who show such love to those around them. They are great examples to others, even to my little children, and I have learned so much from their strong testimonies of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for this opportunity I have to work with them, I look forward to it each week.
