Hi I'm Veronica

I am a college student, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am a History major and I am minoring in International Studies. I have been at this school now for eight semesters and I am 23 years old. I graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in December 2016. I could have never guessed that my life so far would turn out the way it did. I have been through really good things and some not so good things. However, no matter what has happened, I have always gotten through ever little hardship. I am ambitious and independent and want to be a contributing member of society and an influence in the world for good. I'm Veronica Talley and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion. So I have always been going to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints as long as I can remember. I have chosen for myself that this church is true. The church just makes sense to me. I have prayed and felt for myself that it is true. I can feel all the time that it is true. I know it is. I have just found that out for myself. Through my many experiences. That's what you have to do when you have learned all you can. Just pray and ask God for yourself if it is true. I know that if you do ask God for the truth that he will direct you to it and will let you know when you find it. I have found it here in this church and I think you can too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to be like Christ. It isn't easy. I am human so I make mistakes but as long as I put forth an effort to do what I know is right I know that I will be blessed. I also go to church every Sunday and continually learn of Christ and his gospel. I try to serve others as I know Christ would. I try to do my best to be the best person I possibly can be.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, of course not. We believe that all people on the earth are children of God. So we help everyone! We also believe that we should follow Christ's example. He helped everyone who needed his help so we will never turn away a person in need. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everything around me tells me that there is a God. I see him in the flowers that bloom in the spring and in the majestic forests that cover our world. I see him in the thunder and lightning storms that happen. I see him in all of the miraculous creations around me. I know that science has an explanation for how those things happen, and they make sense, but I have a very hard time believing that those things happened by chance. I believe that God created this planet. I also know that God lives because I can feel it in my heart and soul. I can feel it more strongly than I have felt anything else. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that the Bible is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly. The copy that we use is the King James version. I believe that that version is the word of God. I love the Bible and the things that it teaches. I have learned so much about the gospel of Jesus Christ from reading and studying the Old and New Testaments. In addition to the Bible we also accept The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, The Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price as scripture and the word of God.
