Hi I'm Spencer Clair

I have seven sisters and one brother. I enjoy running, swimming, biking, doing family activities and I love being a missionary!

About Me

Right now I am serving a mission in San Diego, California! I love going on hikes to see the beautiful scenery thats all around me. I believe I'm really blessed to be in this beautiful place. In high school I did swimming, track and cross country. Running is a very good way to feel refreshed and a good way to clear your mind from the worldly things outside in the world. Also, challenging yourself to improve and do better has really helped me to do better both physically, mentally and spiritually. When I challenge myself to read my scriptures or say my prayers every night, it makes it easier. Also, in swimming and running I really try to challenge myself hard even if I know I can't achieve what I want to be at. I believe that pushing through hard times can be very challenging, but in the end, it is very worth it. At BYU-Idaho, I ran the Teton Dam Marathon! That choice let me see and realize that I can do things with God. He gave me the strength for that. Also, it helped me realize that Christ is there with us on the road of life. I felt that this experience helped me to see that when times do get tough, there are great blessings in the end and I have realized God cares more about our growth than our comfort.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the Holy Ghost guiding me, and my testimony of Jesus Christ. When I'm at church or a holy place I feel safe and secure from worldly things. Also, I get a feeling of peace and safety. Without the Holy Ghost to guide me, I'm sure my life would be harder. Through the Holy Ghost, I know where I should be, what I should be doing and I am warned of danger that I might of encountered if I was not listening. Another reason I'm Mormon is through the power of prayer. Prayer has helped me when I need strength both mentally and physically. For example, we had swim practice on a saturday and both my parents were gone and I commited to my coach that I would go. That day I didn't feel up to exercising and so I prayed for extra strength that day. After my prayer I left running to my workout and at first I felt bad, but then I wasn't tired anymore. Furthermore, I still had energy afterwards and felt stronger than usual. I believe that Jesus does listen to our prayers and is waiting to bless us, but we need to make room in our lives to pray, so we can recieve his blessings.

How I live my faith

As a missionary right now, I have seen many different circumstances that people are in. Despite the circumstances though, God is there for everyone! Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. Missionary Work is one of the great keys of true happiness. I have met people that truly feel that there is something more in life. In this true church, we can continually progress and we can come closer to God everyday. Everyday, to invite the spirit we study for 2 hours and than we study an hour of language to bring the spirit into our lives as we teach! Spiritual preparation is so vitally important. The best way to find the spirit and God more in our lives is through going to church, studying the scriptures and having sincere prayers. When the people we teach do that, the spirit will testify that this church is true! I know it is true by these steps. Doing this will help us gain a stronger relationship with God everyday!
