Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a busy mom of three, married to a wonderful man for 21 years, working part time and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my dear husband for 21 years, have three children and volunteer as a leader in the Primary program of the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've been a member all of my life, I met my husband at BYU Hawaii Campus and moved to Arizona to start our lives together. We spent 3 1/2 years of our marriage living overseas in Asia. It was a great experience that taught me many things through our various struggles. I learned to speak Chinese (I could order anything on the menu at McDonalds in Chinese!). I work part time at a physician's office and really enjoy my interaction with many people there. I am currently learning to play the piano and will take lessons for five years (or when I can easily play hymns without sweating). I will then take lessons to learn the violin. It's never too late to learn new talents!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents are both lifelong members and raised me with good principles and values. My husband was also born into the church and comes from pioneer stock on both sides of his family. As a parent, I can see the benefit of good moral values instilled in children when the time comes to make hard choices. I have read and know the Book of Mormon is true. I know because I've asked Heavenly Father if it was true. The answer came to me that it was, with a warm peaceful feeling. That feeling comes again whenever I feel the Spirit. I was 14 the first time that I felt the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I am a leader in the children's program of the church. It involves ages 1 1/2 (nursery age) until the 12th birthday when the child would begin youth group. The basic principles are taught in the children's group. Important things that the children can build upon later as they mature. I have served in many different ways and organizations in the church. Previously I worked with the youth and very much enjoyed that. It really helped me to understand my own daughter better. I also have served by educating people how to can food, learn to be prepared for emergencies and how to prepare unprocessed foods. I love the different ways I have been able to serve others in church and community and can't wait to see where I'll serve next!
