Hi I'm Cody

I grew up in San Antonio, TX. I am a forester. I have a beautiful wife and new son. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Fishing, hiking, and hard work in the field fill my days. I have an amazing wife who picked me. I married up. I have a son who was born earlier this year. I treat the land as my personal Temple, whether it be field of forest.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in High School, I had questions about God and religion. After asking priests, pastors, professionals, friends, and family these questions, I received several 'I don't know's' and 'Don't worry about it's.' That caused me to stop going to any specific church and try to find these answers. I checked out many alternatives but did not ever consider LDS teachings. One day at work, I made a joke about Mormons in a group of guys. Afterward, one of the group-members pulled me aside and asked if I had read the Book of Mormon. After a quick 'Nope,' he let me know he was a member and challenged me to take a look. I took it on and purchased a copy from Barnes and Noble. After skimming the book, I did not know why this was important in my life and prayed for direction. A few days later, I met a woman who informed me she went to BYU in Provo. I knew I was supposed to marry her from the moment she looked at me. I am convinced that rather than just giving me a tablet with answers directly, the lord gave me a beautiful wife who could help me to become a better servant of God. After meeting her and buying a copy of "Mormonism for Dummies" (it's a real book), the questions I had were clearly answered. I now know without a doubt that we are children of our Father in Heaven. I know that we are here to gain experience and work to overcome trials. I know we show love to our Father by serving our fellow men and women. I know we can join our Father again. I know Christ lives for his Father and for us. By knowing these things, my life has clear purpose. I am working to improve myself while improving those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a living example of what I learn. I work to maintain clean language and habits, modest dress, and selfless actions. I work to serve others before myself. I work to show others you can have happiness without substances, things, and activities that work to misdirect us. I pray often and work hard to give many thanks for the things I have been given. I currently serve the young men by offering compassion and direction. I do what I can to help those around me with anything they need.
