Hi I'm Misty

I am a full-time wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of two energetic, adorable girls. My husband is a full-time dental student. To describe our life in one word... BUSY! Yes, we are very busy. We are poor students. We live very far away from our families. But we are HAPPY. If I have some spare time to myself, you'll find me doing anything crafty... painting, decorating, sewing, or refinishing furniture. I also enjoy running, playing volleyball, reading a good book, and spending time outdoors. I have a hard time sitting still or "relaxing". I am constantly looking for a project to work on or an activity to do with my kids. I love to clean and organize, and try to keep our home this way. But with two toddlers, I'm quickly learning that it is a bit of a losing battle. But I'm ok with toys decorating the floor and remnants of dinner splattering my kitchen wall. I love my role/full-time job of being a mother more than anything else. To me, this is the the most important thing I will do with my life, to raise the beautiful children that Heavenly Father blesses me with.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 years old, I wondered to myself if this church really was true. I had been raised in the church: attending church meetings, reading scriptures, and praying to Heavenly Father my entire life. But I wasn't sure if I was doing those things because my parents expected me to or because I truly believed the church was true. It wasn't so much that I doubted the teachings of my parents, I just simply needed my own confirmation of its truthfulness in order to fully dedicate myself to this gospel. I spent lots of time on my knees and studying in the scriptures, trying to find out what I truly believed. My answer didn't come immediately. I believe the Lord was testing my faithfulness. But one day, after reading my scriptures and while I was praying, I felt the power of the Holy Ghost so strongly. I don't know how else to describe it other than that I felt a warmness in my heart telling me this church was true and I felt so incredibly happy. Because of this experience, I have been able to fully dedicate myself to living a life in accordance with the Church's standards. I have had several other experiences throughout my life, both big and small, that reaffirm what I learned when I was a young 12 year old girl, that this church is the only church on the earth with the full truth. That is why I am proud to say that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have found that one of the best ways for me to live my faith is through service. Whether it's in my family, at church, or in my neighborhood, I know that my Heavenly Father is pleased with me when I'm serving those around me.
