Hi I'm Karen

The Seattle area has been my home. I am a retired junior high school library secretary. I love my family, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and grandmother who travels often to visit her children and grandchildren. I taught junior high prior to having a family. Now, I volunteer at a local elementary school working in their library. I love to read, garden, laugh, being around young children, and watch sports on TV.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young person not attending church, even though I was a member, I decided to change and began attending after a family move across country. I have never regretted that decision to involve myself with the church. The lessons taught and practiced have been a blessing of happiness, peace, and comfort to me throughout my life. Following the teachings of Jesus Christ have helped me through the ups and downs of life.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed volunteering at a local school library the - kids are so cute - and I love being around all of those books! There are service projects assigned to us by our leaders that I enjoy doing along with the monthly visits I make to 3 ladies in our congregation. I have worked mainly with the children of our congregation, but have spent some time working with the ladies group. As I live my faith, the beliefs help me to prioritize what is really important in an eternal way and they free me of many of the difficulties that result from not following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
