Hi I'm Heather

As an Air Force Brat, I've traveled many places from childhood, am completing a Bachelor's degree in English, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the arts. If it is beautiful, creative, or exhilarating, I will probably make an attempt. I studied Polynesian dance, sing karaoke, enjoy freehand drawing, and am currently creating rather eclectic jewelry. I love my husband, who is so supportive of my varying interests. We are anxiously preparing to have our first child, and look forward to our beautiful addition to our small family.

Why I am a Mormon

I ultimately joined this church for two reasons: I saw what fully living the teachings of Jesus Christ through this church was like through friends who encouraged me, and because I read the Book of Mormon and found it to be a true record of Jesus Christ. As I read and tested each of the principles from both sources in my life--- sincere daily prayer, repenting of sins through faith in Christ, and working to love people around me (and sometimes, it can be a LOT of work!)--- I found that I had a greater sense of peace and a firmer grounding of who I really am. I am not my clothes, or hair, or career; I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I now do my best to help other people know that they have a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior who came to this earth to take away sin. It is the most simple and profound truth I know. How can I not share the most sincere thing I know?

How I live my faith

I teach all the children in our congregation, 12 and under, to sing. They can be very unfocused at times, so it keeps me on my toes. They are also the source of some of the funniest comments I have ever heard out of a human mouth! Hearing them sing and learn about God, about Christ, about lessons of kindness, and about faithful men and women throughout the scriptures is heart-warming! I love helping them.
