Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a Mormon. I'm a dental hygienist. I'm a traveler. I'm adventurous. I'm a girl with a motorcycle.

About Me

I graduated from college. I have an Associate of Science degree, a Associate of Applied Science- Dental Hygiene, and finally a Bachelors of Science- Dental Hygiene degree. I recently returned from a humanitarian trip where I performed dental hygiene cleanings on people in South and Central America. I started my professional career and enjoy working with my employer and patients. I was given the title of most adventurous in my dental hygiene class. I have traveled or lived in Alaska, Australia, Tasmania, near Zions National Park in Utah, Grand Teton National Park, Colorado and on a Navy ship the USNS Comfort. I have gone sky diving, sea kayaking, ice-climbing, and I love snow and water skiing. I enjoy attending rodeos, demolition derbys and dances. I have an enduro motorcycle. I also enjoy leisure activities such as reading, scrap booking, and holidays with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up on Utah in a family active in the LDS church. Everyone has to come to a knowledge of the truth of the gospel and church themselves. The principles of the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity were the foundation of my testimony. I observed the lives of those around me and how dis-obedience to these princples can make ones life and family unhappy and in poverty. My testimony of the church itself came when I was 20 and attending college. I wanted to know what the Book of Mormon was about. I grew up hearing the teachings and experiences of the people in the book. I wanted to know for myself what it was about. I was curious. I wasn't seeking to know if it was true but I sincerely wanted to know what it contained. As I was reading through the book I felt the feelings of joy and happiness. How could a 14 year old farm boy write such a book. I knew the Book of Mormon was true. Therefore, I knew Joseph Smith Jr. was a prophet of God and the LDS church is Gods church in the Latter-days. Later, as I've gone through life I've felt additional principles of the gospel are true. Principles such as the atonement of Christ, paying tithing, that God has a prophet on earth today, prayer, faith, and priesthood blessings.

How I live my faith

I feel Heavenly Father has provided me an opportunity to obtain an education. I feel as part of that blessing I can use that education to serve others. I was able to participate in a humanitarian project with the LDS church and the U.S. Navy. For two months I was able to do dental hygiene services in South and Central America. I was able to serve host-nation citizens, military personnel from each nation, the U.S military personnel, and non-governmental volunteers from around the world. I was able to teach oral hygiene care to adults and children. In addition, I am a secretary for the women in our local church group. I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know others. I try to see others as God sees them on the heart and not on the outside. You never know who can be your best friend.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures are for our benefit and knowledge. We can learn a lot from reading about the lives of others in the past. They faced similar situations and we can see the blessings or consequences of their choices. Recently, I had to make a decision. Both choices were good but which was better. I prayed about my dilemma then got out my scriptures. The message was clear and I knew the decision I had to make. The scriptures are the was Heavenly Father communicates with us with the holy ghost to carry the message into our hearts and minds. The scriptures also help us to better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. They help us understand our relationship to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The teach us laws, principles and by being obedient we will be blessed in our lives. Reading about the lives of Joseph of Egypt and King David allow us to understand that life will have challenges and temptations even if we are living a righteous life. As long as we are obedient to the gospel and endure to the end we will receive the fruits of our labors. Show more Show less
