Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Arizona. I served a mission in Africa. I am an accountant. I am a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful husband. We have three beautiful daughters. I love being a mother. I am an accountant and earned my CPA degree. I graduated from BYU-Idaho University. I enjoyed college and had great roommates and lots of fun memories. I served a mission for our church in Africa (Zimbabwe and Zambia) and loved it so much. I hope someday to return and visit all the wonderful people I met while serving there. I love to make crafts like scrapbooking, sewing, painting, and making hair bows. I love to do activites with my family and friends like camping, playing tennis, playing wallyball, and going wakeboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents did a wonderful job raising me and my brothers in the church. I continue to be a part of this church because I know for myself that it is true. I want to raise my own children in the gospel because it is such a strength and a blessing in our lives. I shared the gospel as a missionary for a year and half in Africa. I loved sharing the joy the gospel brings. My favorite part was watching other people change their life for the better because of the gospel. One experience I want to share where the gospel has helped me get through a huge trial in mine and my husband's life is when our first daughter was a stillborn at 24 weeks. At the time it felt so unreal what we were experiencing. I remember at the hospital we played church music and the inspired words gave me such great comfort at the time that I neeed it most. My family, friends, and friends in the gospel were such a great support to me and my husband during this time. My husband and I grew so much closer together. The gospel played a huge role in helping me through this trial, especially knowing that Jesus Christ knows exactly how I feel and what I am going through. I love the Savior so much and I know that He lives.

How I live my faith

The gospel is such a big part of my life. I love being involved in church. My dream has always been to serve with the youth in the church and go to Girl's Camp (12-18 year old girls). This past year I was able to go to Girl's Camp and I was able to bring my husband and young daughter too. We had so much fun. I am serving with the Young Women and have for a few years and absolutely love it. I teach the girls that are 16-17 years old. Also, once a week we have an activity with the young women. We do various activities: service projects, learn how to cook, exercise, work on goals, play games, and much more.
