Hi I'm Taryn

I am from Mesa, Arizona. I am a choral music education major. Musical theatre is my passion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music has always been a big part of me and my family. My three sisters and I started off playing sports as kids, and then switched into the musical and theatre realms. We couldn't be happier. I spend a lot of my time participating in community theatre shows, both on and offstage. Nothing quite beats the center stage magic of the theatre. My stage experience has also provided me many opportunities to music direct and choreograph local shows as well. It is great practice for the day I hope to become a choir director. When I am not performing, I can usually be found studying hard as a college student, working hard doing "to-go's" at my job at a local restaurant, or enjoying a laughter filled night with great friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the gospel and the message of peace and happiness it brings. There have been so many days in my life when I am just lost and do not understand why I am where I am at that point in my life. Sometimes these days can be extremely discouraging. However, that is when I remember that I always have someone in my corner, looking out for me with divine eyes that know I am of infinite worth. Heavenly Father is there to help me along my mortal journey and will never forsake me, even at the most grueling of times. In fact, he loves me so much, that he sent his son, my Eldest brother, Jesus Christ to atone for my sins and be resurrected so that I have the opportunity and chance to live eternally with our Heavenly Father someday. This knowledge gives me so much hope for the future and gives me the strength to live each day as a disciple of Christ. I know with all of my heart that this gospel is true, and that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. He knows me individually and wants me to return home to him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by smiling. A smile can go such a long way and touch so many people, and is a great way to invite the spirit. I am currently the secretary in the women's organization in my ward. Therefore, I live my faith my reaching out to the sisters and ladies that I am always around. A long with smiling, service is a great way to reach these women and make sure they know they are loved, by me, the other women in the ward, and their Heavenly Father. I am also the in charge of the music in the sacrament part of our church meetings. I conduct the music we sing each Sunday, and try to lead the congregation both through the music and the smile I bring. Furthermore, I try to live my faith where ever I go, whether at school, in musical rehearsals, or being around my friends. I try to keep my language clean and appropriate, keep the spirit with me, and bring about a demeanor of happiness. Those around me know that I can be funny and silly, but I am also a hard worker that they can rely on and be trusted. Through my life, I have learned the best way to live my faith is by being a friend, bringing a smile, and serving those around me.
