Hi I'm Joe Hopkins

I am a father of soon to be 8 kids, traveled the sandy desolate places of the world with the military and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a gypsy out of time. I grew up thinking everyone moved every 2-4 years. I spent 10 years in South America as a kid, 2 years in Bolivia and Ecuador on a mission, and 10 years in the Air Force with my stuff in hot or cold places as I went everywhere else. Now, I just have career ADD since I cannot decide what I really want to do and I refuse to grow up. I love chaos as the father of 8 kids. I love to read and just about anything outdoors, especially in the summer. I love to travel with my family and see and do fun things together.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 18, my parents completed a nasty divorce. I doubted all the things I had been taught, including my religion. I spent the next 2 years running into walls, trying to prove that all they taught me was wrong and I was happier doing whatever I wanted. I wasn't. I was miserable. I chose to come back and live the teachings of Jesus Christ because His Gospel made my life easier, joyful and full of meaning. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope, purpose and fulfillment and understanding of who I am and what I should be doing by helping me focus on the eternal perspective it gives me.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means trying to be like Jesus. While I fall short everyday, it is the struggle and the goal that helps me get better.
