Hi I'm Kelton

I'm a musician, I'm a big brother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Oh hi, didn't see you there, I'm Kelton here's a little bit about myself. I love music, I try to play every instrument and i really love to sing, I work as a rope access technician and I love it. I also like to parkour, free climb, rock climb, RUGBY! paint or draw, read comic books, play video games and pretty much anything else that involves awesomeness. I like to have as much fun as I can at every moment possible, fun rocks. I don't like long walks on the beach, sand under my toe nails bugs me. Playing music makes happy, reading scripture makes me happy, I love my job, I love my family and I love my heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ... I also love star wars.

Why I am a Mormon

My family searched and searched for the right church for us to attend, then one day it found us. Two missionaries knocked on our door, and thankfully my mom let them in. My mom was first baptized, then my dad, then I when I was just 11 years old. The changes in my family were awesome, the spirit presided in our home and it was so peaceful, my brothers were still insane but it was ok. Unfortunately when I was around 17, I chose to fall away from the church and pursue my music career, there also may have been a girl involved...cough... So for about 3 years I was away from the church, at the time it seemed like the right thing to do, looking back now I have no idea how I survived without this church. I did a lot of dumb stuff, made some stupid mistakes, I was pretty much an idiot. So one summer literally everything in my life fell apart, my band started breaking up, I had no money, my girlfriend of 3 years left me, my car broke like 5 times, i accumulated a large amount of debt, me and my dad weren't speaking, everything just sucked. Then an old friend had randomly invited me to come out to church, I said yes. The first weeks were hard, but a member invited to play some music with him, seems meaningless enough but this act made all the difference to me. This fellowship opened my heart and my eyes to the beauty in front of me. I started praying and reading and, it was so amazing how things just got easier. Life wasn't a burden, it was beautiful. My heavenly father reached out to me and softened my heart, Through a series of events he stole my heart out of the ember and steered me off the self destructive path I was on. Heavenly father and Jesus Christ literally saved my life and I am forever grateful for the love I have received. I am a mormon because this truly is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a mormon because I don't know where i would be today without this church, it has saved my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting according to God's will. The answers to all my problems are in the scriptures, all I have to do is pick them up and read and I'm happy as a clam. Prayer is another huge tool I take advantage of, If ever I am unsure of anything, if I pray about it I will receive an answer. I have a super huge testimony of fasting for answers too. The spirit I have felt while fasting is unreal!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Reading scriptures is pretty awesome and kind of funny. The fulfillment, joy and truth you will get out of reading scripture is un-comparable to anything else. However for some reason it's one of the hardest things to make a habit of. But once you pick them up and get into it, the spirit is so strong and the knowledge you will receive is super sweet. Also heavenly father will often use scripture to bear witness to you or help you out with a problem your having. I know there have been times where i was having a problem or a certain question, and the first page i opened and the first scripture i saw gave me my answer... And i hope I gave you a decent answer.
